Damaged Bike Policy


Unfortunately, shipping bikes can sometimes result in damages. Bicycles are big, bulky, heavy, and they can sometimes get damaged in-transit. The bikes we sell are inspected and carefully packed into strong cardboard shipping containers to avoid damage.

In the unlikely event you receive a damaged bike and would like to request a replacement part or in extreme cases a replacement bike: you must file a damage claim with us. You must file your claim within 3 business days after receiving your bike. To file claim, please take several digital photos of your bike and the bike box your bike was shipped in.  The photos should clearly show the damages on your bike including any damage to the packing materials. Please email the digital photos to support@makaibikes.com including a detailed description of the damages and condition of your bike. We handle all our bicycle damage claims via email because we need to see pictures of the damage in the form of digital photographs. Please do not contact us via phone with a damage claim. We'll do our best to correct the problem or respond to your damage claim within 3-5 business days. Remember, we want you to be happy! Thank you for your understanding!

Please note: minor scratches, minor scuffing, tiny dents, and slight dirt residue can occur during the shipping process. We may refuse your claim if the damage is very slight. This is allowable damage according to our shipping terms.
