Beach Cruiser Bicycle Size GuideBeach
cruiser bicycles are measured primarily by the diameter size of the
tire. The tire size measurement is most important to determine what
size beach cruiser will fit you. Most adult beach cruiser bikes have
26" tires. Another size consideration is the size of the frame. The
frame size is measured from the crank housing to the seat pin. Keep in
mind that the seat height, handlebar height, and handlebar angle can
all be easily adjusted on a beach cruiser, and there are limits on how
much each can be adjusted. If you are a heavy person (250 lbs or more)
please see this page for information.
Unlike
more technical bikes such as road racing bikes, getting a precise fit
on a beach cruiser is generally not as important, since it is a more
relaxed style of bike. It is important to get a bike that fits you well
enough so you can pedal comfortable, easily control the handlebars, and
ride safely. You don't want to get a cruiser that is either too small
or too large. The below sizes give you an approximate height range for
each size of beach cruiser.
- 20" Tire Size
- 3'2"-4'4" Height Range
- For Kids
- 24" Tire Size
- 4'-5'4" Height Range
- For Taller Kids, Shorter Teenagers, & Shorter Adults
- 26" Tire Size
- 5'-6'4" Height Range
- For Teenagers & Adults

This picture illustrates how a beach cruiser tire diameter size and frame size is measured.
This example shows this is a 26" tire size beach cruiser with an 18" frame.
